Forensics through data analysis

IT forensics develops solutions that can, on the one hand, collect evidence from the IT environment, recover data and assess the authenticity of data. On the other hand, it offers methods through which forensic evidence can be derived from data sets. This second approach uses AI technologies to filter data, generate metadata, and make connections between heterogeneous data sources. Examples include intelligent video surveillance systems that provide real-time, case-based access to video data. Or fraud detection methods that identify and point out fraudulent flows in large data streams. And using linguistic methods, the writing style of anonymous letters can be assigned to possible authors.
